    Remarks: 
    The eagle is a replacement (not an exact copy) for the original wooden eagle that was on top of the cupola of the old City Hall building. The new City Hall building was dedicated on Nov. 20, 1939. The architectural firm for the building was Wells, Hudson & Granger, and Grand & Volpe, Inc., were the building contractors. IAS files contain a copy of an excerpt from the Nashua History Committee's, "The Nashua Experience," Canaan, NH: Phoenix Publishing, 1978, pg. 171-172, 231-232; and a related article from the Nashua Telegraph, Nov. 20, 1939. Both discuss the history of the new City Hall and its dedication.
