Remarks:
Gift of the Spanish Cultural Institute. Incoming reports listed artist as Jose Luis Sanches. Miguel Morenos Grados was the sculptor of the crown and scepter replicas that were stolen later from the base. IAS files contain copy of newspaper photograph from Mobile Press Register (Mobile, Alabama), March 21, 1968, which shows how the base looked when it still had windows for viewing the replicas of Isabella's crown and scepter (which were stolen in 1981); and copy of newspaper article from Mobile Press Register (Mobile, Alabama), July 17, 1981, which discusses the burglary of the crown and scepter replicas from the base.
