    Remarks:
Severance Hall was a gift to Cleveland from John L. Severance and his wife. It was built to serve as a permanent concert hall for the Cleveland Orchestra. Architect Frank Ginn oversaw the building of the Hall. The architectural firm of Walker & Weeks designed the exterior of the Hall, and suggested to Severance that the artist design the pediment. Ginn and Severance advised the artist on the design of the pediment.
