    Description:
A landscaped plaza setting with central fountain sculpture and reliefs which incorporate the application of light and technology. The fountain features a large, golden-colored globe encrusted with abstract "continents." Two rings of water spouts spray water on the globe and water collects in the pool below. Benches ring the fountain and are echoed by other benches at the perimeter of the park. In between is a ring of twelve perforated silver sphere moons placed atop metal scaffolding. The surface of each sphere is perforated with a different design. There are also four cast metal reliefs placed in the brick pavers, which mark the cardinal points of the compass. Honey locust trees and greenwave shrubs form a ring around the outer benches.

    Remarks:
The plaza project cost $1.4 million and was commissioned by the Cambridge Redevelopment Authority. Partial funding was received from the U.S. Department of Transportation and Housing and Urban Development. The fountain celebrates the four elements: earth, air, fire, water. The twelve "moons" circling the basin indicate phases of the moon.
