Description:
The memorial consists of a bronze figure of an angel holding a baby above her head with both hands. The angel stands on a small square marble base in front of a rectangular marble wall adorned with a pediment and two columns. On the back of the wall is a profile portrait of Mr. & Mrs. John Munro Longyear in relief. Below the portrait is a carved lion's head and a semicircular fountain basin. Water pours out of the lion's mouth and into the fountain basin below. The sides of the wall are adorned with a scroll and an urn.

Remarks:
The agreement for the memorial was signed on Oct. 7, 1927, for the amount of $35,000. The marble parts of the memorial were created by architects Gay and Proctor and the contractors were James Drescole and Sons Company. The sculpture was later sold to the Springvale Museum of Art and was installed on a new base.
