    Description: 
    Two standing figures, a Union soldier and a Union sailor, flanking the entrance to what used to be Memorial Hall. The soldier is wearing a uniform consisting of a long coat, a cape buttoned at the top and a cap. The mustached figure holds the barrel of a rifle with both hands. The butt of the gun rests in front of his feet. The mustached sailor stands with his arms crossed and is wearing a sailor suit with a tie and a hat.

    IAS files contain a copy of the Marion Chronicle (Marion, IN), May 10, 1987. The Wabash County Museum, where the figures are located, used to be Memorial Hall built by architect J. C. Gault. The inscription above the entrance reads: DEDICATED IN MEMORY OF THE/UNION SOLDIERS OF WABASH COUNTY/NOR SHALL THEIR STORY BE FORGOT OR HONOR POINTS THE HALLOWED SPOT/WHILE FAME HER RECORD KEEPS WHERE VALOR PROUDLY SLEEPS/1861 1865.
