Remarks:
The sculpture was commissioned by the University Art Museum and is on long term loan to the University by the artist. The sculpture refers to Chinese detainees who were held on Angel Island in San Francisco Bay while awaiting entrance into the United States. The Chinese poems incorporated into the installation were written by the detainees and carved into barrack walls on the island. IAS files contain copies of English translations of the poems included in the installation. IAS files contain copies of related University Art Museum publication and related excerpt from the University publication "Come Walk With Me...a Tour of the Monumental Sculpture Collection of California State University, Long Beach".
