Description:
A giant blue-painted rosary carved from five walnut trees on the artist's farm in north central Ohio. The fifty-nine rough, multifaceted beads on the rosary are carved with a chain saw into six large beads (11 x 18 in.) and fifty-three small beads (12 x 12 in.). The beads are connected with a 5/16 inch steel rod cut into fifty-nine pieces, one inserted through each bead and looped at the end to connect the beads into the chain of the rosary. At the end of the chain is a ten-foot tall wooden cross with a carved and painted wooden figure of Christ.
