Description:
A stylized figure of a woman, dressed in a long coat and a wide-brimmed hat, stands with arms extended and slightly bent at the elbows. One bird is perched on her proper right shoulder, one is perched on her proper right forearm, and another bird eats out of her proper left hand. The figure is placed atop a low base in a garden setting.

Remarks:
Commissioned by the trustees of Crosby Gardens and the Toledo Arts Commission. Money for the figure was raised from $2 individual memberships in the Arts Commission or the Crosby Gardens. The figure was cast using the lost wax method. Nearby plaque reads: "WOMAN WITH THE BIRDS"/BY JOE ANN COUSINO/DONATED TO THE CITIZENS OF TOLEDO/BY THE CROSBY GARDENS BOARD AND/THE ARTS COMMISSION OF GREATER TOLEDO/DEDICATED OCTOBER 13, 1974 (symbol). IAS files contain a related article from The Blade (Toledo, Ohio), Oct. 14, 1974, which refers to the location of the figure as the George P. Crosby Gardens.
