    Description: 
    A helmeted World War I soldier in uniform stands at parade rest, both hands on the barrel of his rifle, the butt of which rests by his feet. A raised rock form partly blocks his proper right leg from behind. He stands on an inscribed base with a plaque dedicated to Spanish-American war veterans on the rear, which is mounted on top of drinking fountain with receptacles on all sides but the rear. The memorial is surrounded by grates.
