    Description: 
    Full-length male figure in loose-fitting work-clothes swings a sledgehammer into the air, poised to bring it down. The figure stands on a bell-shaped base.

    Remarks: 
    This piece was fabricated at Esco's foundry in Portland using the lost wax method. The work was done under the direction of artist Ted Hoff and Esco's technical director Stubbs Davis. This is reportedly the first sculpture of its proportions cast in stainless steel. IAS files include related articles from the Oregonian, Feb. 28, 1971 and the Esco Ladle, a company publication, March 1971.
