Remarks:
The sculpture "eats" garbage which is fed into its mouth. A vacuum is activated which pulls the trash through a tube running the length of the goat and deposits it in a hidden trash container. The sculpture was designed for Expo '74, the World's Fair. The sculpture was commissioned and donated by the Women's Council of Realtors. Cost of the sculpture was estimated at between $8,000 and $12,000. IAS files contain related news clippings from Spokane Daily Chronicle, The Spokesman-Review, Wenatchee World, and Spokane Community Press, April-July, 1974. IAS files contain copies of artist's original sketches, and blueprints of the grotto and vacuum mechanism.
