    Description: 
    A group of six fanciful animals circle around on top of a brick entryway to the tune of a nursery rhyme which plays on the hour and on the half hour. The animals include a bear with a tambourine, two kangaroos playing horns, an elephant with an accordion, a goat playing pipes, a hipopotamus with a violin, and a penguin with drums. Above the animals is a clock and two monkeys striking a bell.

    Remarks: 
    Edward Coe Embury created the base structure which is the entryway to the southern side of the Central Park Children's Zoo. Fernando Texidor was the designer. The Delacorte Clock was a gift to the City of New York from George T. Delacorte. Inscription on nearby plaque reads: OPERATION OF CHIMES AND ANIMATED FIGURES/8 A.M. TO 6 P.M. DAILY/ON THE HOUR AND HALF HOUR/GIFT OF/GEORGE DELACORTE FUND
