    Remarks: 
    Buried near the base is the school district's time capsule which holds memorabilia of 1976 gathered by students at twelve participating schools. The time capsule is to be opened in 2076. IAS files contain an article from The State Journal (Lansing, MI), Oct. 17, 1976, pg. E-4; and an excerpt from the school district's newsletter, The Spotlight, pg. 7. The artist was assisted by Rick Weber of Universal Steel, Terry Sexton of Demmer Corporation, and Glen Loker of Eisenhour Construction.
