Inscription:  (On granite panels: names of California Korean War veterans) (On one granite panel:) THE REMEMBERANCE/MEMORIAL FOR/CALIFORNIA/KOREAN WAR/VETERANS/TO THE 2,496 MEN FROM/CALIFORNIA WHO DURING THE/KOREAN WAR 25 JUNE 1950/TO 27 JULY 1953 GAVE THEIR/LAST MEASURE OF VALOR/ TO THEIR COUNTRY. ON THIS/WALL ARE MEN KILLED IN ACTION/MISSING IN ACTION OR WHO/ WERE TAKEN PRISON OF WAR. Description:  A circular arrangement of sixteen rectangular granite panels, fifteen of which are inscribed with the names of 2,496 Californians who lost their lives in combat during the Korean War. The sixteenth panel bears an inscription dedicated to California Korean War veterans and a poem, "I'm Free." The memorial is installed in a circular plaza with a semicircular wall on one side. Surrounding the memorial is a garden containing twenty-nine veteran's pride roses.
