ON THIS/WALL ARE MEN KILLED IN ACTION/MISSING IN ACTION OR WHO/ WERE TAKEN PRISON OF WAR.
Description:
A circular arrangement of sixteen rectangular granite panels, fifteen of which are inscribed with the names of 2,496 Californians who lost their lives in combat during the Korean War. The sixteenth panel bears an inscription dedicated to California Korean War veterans and a poem, "I'm Free." The memorial is installed in a circular plaza with a semicircular wall on one side. Surrounding the memorial is a garden containing twenty-nine veteran's pride roses.

The memorial was erected in honor of California Korean War veterans, and was funded in part by California Veterans of Foreign Wars posts and California American Legion posts. IAS files contain a copy of the dedication program.
