Artist Carlton Bell did the artistic design and supervised the students who fabricated the sundial. Pat Gonzales, college welding instructor, helped construct the sundial. Warren Dunn, college art instructor, supervised the making of the contributor name tiles on the wall surrounding the plaza. Architect Jim Walsh designed the sundial plaza. Vancouver Extrusion Company anodized the sundial. Additional funding was provided by the Alcoa Foundation and the Southwest Washington Independent Forward Thrust (SWIFT).
