    Remarks:
Pietro Caproni headed a firm in Boston from 1892 until 1925 that manufactured plaster casts of famous sculptures. He died in 1928, and according to his widow, he wanted to use copies of the Lions by Antonio Canova from the Tomb of Pope Clement XIII in Rome for his memorial. The memorial cost $7,600, and was installed on September 8, 1929, the 20th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Caproni. IAS files contain related cemetery records, including landscape plans of the monument and a sketch of the lions by Ralph Adams Cram. Cram did the original sketch for the monument; work was done by Cram and Ferguson. Andrew Dresselly sculpted the lions. Presbrey-Leland Studios did the stone work. Henry S. Adams planned and supervised the landscaping.
