    Description: 
    James L. Ridgley stands wearing a buttoned knee-length formal coat. He holds a scroll in his proper right hand which has opened downward. His proper left hand is on his waist with his elbow held outward. His proper right arm is resting on a cluster of three low columns. His proper right foot is placed forward, slightly over the edge of the plinth. The sculpture is mounted on a tiered, decorated base. The base's central section consists of a short column on each of its four sides, supporting relief arches. Below each arch is a circular bronze relief plaque. The lower part of the base is tiered.

    Remarks: 
    The sculpture commemorates James L. Ridgely (1807-1881), city and state legislator and distinguished member of the Order of Odd Fellows in Baltimore. The firm of Muldoon built the base.
