Formerly in the collection of Kenworthy, Sheperd, Mrs., Memphis, Tennessee

Owner of a stagecoach line in Nashville. One of the stagecoach lines he owned ran between Nashville, Tennessee and Washington, DC, and was used by fellow Nashvillian Andrew Jackson --the President references Hough in several surviving letters from the period. He married Ellen Douglas Anderson of Louisa County, Virginia, and resided in Nashville, Tennessee. Mrs. Hough's miniature (IAP record no. 81770203) is documented by artist John Wood Dodge. He died on Jan. 21, 1844.
