Description:
Memorial is a large reflecting pool with marble centerpiece. There are steps leading down into the pool. In the center of the pool is a large rough-sided marble sculpture in the shape of the Vietnam peninsula. The top of the sculpture is flat. The sculpture slopes up from a height of two feet at the tip to a height of five feet at the top of the penninsula. At the top is a sculpture in bronze rendering a pair of combat boots, an M16 rifle with bayonet down as if pushed into the ground, and a helmet hanging on the butt of the gun. Along the side of the pool is a large marble pedestal with names engraved on it.

Remarks:
Surrounding the pool is a circular brick walk made of engraved bricks purchased by donors. The total cost of the memorial was $200,000. IAS files contain copies of related newspaper articles.
