Fourteen stations of the cross and one station depicting Christ's resurrection are installed in a plaza. Each station consists of a blue and gold ceramic panel sculpted in high and low relief housed in the niche of a brick structure. Each structure is tall and narrow with a peaked roof. The stations are set on a landscaped, tiled terrace overlooking the Hudson River. A stone retaining wall borders the terrace. The stations are electronically set up for night viewing.

The stations of the cross were a gift from the Cartalemi family. Monsignor Hilary C. Franco, pastor of St. Augustine Church, had the original concept for the project. The relief panels were created in Castelli, Italy by the artist. Father and son, Pasquale and Kenneth Cartalemi, built the brick enclosures for the relief panels. Kenneth Cartalemi designed the grounds. Nearby plaque reads: IN MEMORY OF/OUR BELOVED MOTHERS/DEDICATED BY/MR. PASQUALE CARTALEMI, SR./&/KENNETH AND MARIA CARTALEMI/BLESSED BY/CARDINAL JOHN J.
