    Description: 
    A stone carving of an eagle, with wings slightly spread, standing on cannon barrels with an American flag draped around its feet. The eagle stands atop a square monument with inset bronze medallion of Indiana's state seal. On the back is a bronze relief plaque and war implements carved in relief.

    Remarks: 
    The monument commemorates the involvement of the 2nd Brigade, 4th Division, 14th Corps, 19th Indiana Battery, at the Battle of Chickamauga during the Civil War. It was placed by the State of Indiana. IAS files contain related excerpt from Jack Kerr's "Monuments and Markers of the 29 States Engaged at Chickamauga and Chattanooga," Collegedale, TN: The College Press, n.d. The monument is on the National Park Service List of Classified Structures No. 08773. IAS files contain a copy of the LCS report form.
