Gift of the artist. It was originally installed in a fountain at the Department of Water & Power building on Hope Street without the knowledge or approval of the City of Oxnard. After it was removed, steps were taken to officially donate the sculpture under the City's Art in Public Places Program. The proposed site was Echo Lake Park, pending the approval of the residents of that district. Reportedly, there was resistance from the residents and concerns about the installation expenses. The sculpture was then placed at 3377 Ocean Drive. IAS files contain a related article from the Los Angeles Times, July 7, 1975 and pertinent correspondence and documentation from the City.
