    Remarks:
Gutterson and Corlett designed the Community Theater building, a Works Progress Administration project. Initial designs were drawn up in 1938 and construction began in the early 1940s. However, completion was delayed because of World War II, and the building was not completed until 1950. IAS file includes citation to Robert Bernhard's "Buildings of Berkley, Phase II," (Oakland, CA): Forest Hills Press, 1991. Berkeley Historical Society files include related City of Berkeley Landmark application.
