    Remarks:
The memorial was constructed as part of a W.P.A. (Works Progress Administration) project. Conflicting sources cite total federal expediture as $21,147 and $31,147 respectively. The town of Milford contributed $6,758.00 to the project. Local architects Cook and Phillips created the memorial, which replaced a wooden marker that deteriorated.
