    Description:
Full-length figure of a World War I soldier. He wears a uniform including hat and boots. A scabbard hangs at his proper left hip, held in place by a strap across his chest. A field bag and canteen hang at his back. There is a tree stump behind the soldier's proper right leg. The granite sculpture stands on a granite base. The base consists of a straight-sided die and moulded cornice. The front of the die is decorated with an incised laurel wreath and carved military symbols at the bottom of each side of the cornice. The die rests on a two-step base. An irregular stone leans against the front of the bottom step of the base. On the face of the stone is a bronze plaque with a bas-relief eagle at the top.
