Remarks:
The sculpture was originally designed for display in Burger King in 1986 when the sculpture was purchased with funds from Art in Public Places and donations from the owners of Burger King, Rhode & Associates. The sculpture was removed from the Burger King on June 2, 1988, and the painted box that encloses the electrical elements was added for the 1989 installation at the Cultural Center. The inscription on a nearby plaque reads: BRIAN COLEMAN/"EXCEL"/ACQUIRED WITH ART IN PUBLIC PLACES FUNDS/AND A DONATION FROM/RHODE & ASSOCIATES/BURGER KING/PALO ALTO PUBLIC ART COMMISSION/S.01.86.
