    Description: 
    A portrait of former Baltimore Mayor Ferdinand Latrobe standing in front of a large arm chair. He is depicted with a long moustache and dressed in a double-breasted overcoat. The sculpture rests on a square granite base which extends from the bottom of a tall granite wall. On the front of the granite base, just below Latrobe there is a raised image of a miniature obelisk monument surrounded by foliage. The top of the granite wall is adorned with a border containing the raised images of two wreaths, one surrounding the date 1893 and one surrounding the date 1875.

    Remarks: 
    Baltimore native, Ferdinand Claiborne Latrobe (1833-1911) was a seven-term mayor of Baltimore whose administration led the way in civic improvements for the citizens of Baltimore. The contract for the base was let to Clough & Molloy for $2,900 and the contract for the foundation was let to D. M. Andrew Company for $400.
