    Description: 
    A mustached, uniformed, Civil War soldier stands at parade rest holding the barrel of his rifle with his proper left hand, the butt of which rests on the ground. The soldier's proper right hand is raised, it once held a wooden tamper, and the soldier is positioned as if tamping a ball into place in his rifle. The soldier wears a visored cap and stands on top of a multitiered,inscribed base with a stepped lower section.
