Description:
Full-length portrait of Christopher Columbus. He wears ankle-boots and a loosely-fitted tunic. His proper right hand is held up to his forehead, shading his eyes. His proper left arm is akimbo. The bronze sculpture stands on a concrete pedestal. The top of the pedestal is raised in front and resembles the prow of a boat. On the proper right side of the pedestal, near the top, an anchor hangs down from a hole. On the back of the pedestal is a bas-relief shield depicting a castle and a lion. The pedestal is painted gray.
