Description:
A free-standing, bas-relief sculpture of a greek warrior. The warrior is kneeling on his proper left knee with his proper right knee bent in front. He holds a shield in his proper left hand and an upright spear in his proper right hand. He is dressed in a helmet and armor. The library courtyard is not accessible to the public; however, the sculpture can be viewed through glass walls on two sides.

Remarks:
Donated by C. A. Doxiadis, the designer of the Eastwick city plan. IAS files contain a copy of the artist's signature in greek letters. According to SOS report form, the sculpture was moved to its current site from storage at the Philadelphia Museum of Art in 1982.
