Description:
A tower structure with an onion dome that serves as a shelter for bus riders. A wind vane and lightning rod stand atop the dome. Under the dome, the structure is six-sided, with panels containing two clocks, two thermometers and two barometers. A red light on the one the instruments warns of stormy weather. At the bottom of the tower is seating for passengers.

Remarks:
Commissioned in October 1988 by the Hillsborough Area Regional Transit Authority (HART) as part of the Marion Street Transit Parkway Public Art Program. Cost was $60,000, a portion of which came from private donations. Campbellsville Industries provided design, fabrication, delivery and installation services. The design of the tower is reminiscent of towers designed by J. A. Wood for the University of Tampa and the Hillsborough County Courthouse. Benches are cordoned off. IAS files include information, press releases and correspondence from the artist from the HARTline files and related articles from the St. Petersburg Times, July 20, 1990 and August 4 & 6, 1990.
