Remarks:
Originally the sculpture was located at the Malaga Street Depot, headquarters of Flager's Florida East Coast Railway, where it was dedicated on Jan. 2, 1916. The dedication took place three years after Flagler's death, on what would have been his 86th birthday. In the 1940s, the sculpture was moved to a park in front of what later became City Hall and the Lightner Museum. In 1972 the sculpture was given to Flagler College and was moved across the street to its present location at the main entrance to the college. The sculpture was repaired and refurbished by Flagler College resident art instructor Enzo Torcoletti after being vandalized by students in 1977.
