Description:  Bust of Christopher Columbus as young man. He is depicted wearing a hat of the period and a garment with a shawl-like collar. He has a formee cross around his neck. His hair is shoulder-length. The pedestal has his name, dates, a carving of his three ships, and a dedication. At the base, on either side of the pedestal, are blocks expressing thanks to the mayor, council, and sponsors.
