    Owner:
City of Sapulpa, City Hall, 425 East Dewey, Sapulpa, Oklahoma 74066
    Remarks:
Sculpture was created with a chain saw. It was commissioned for the Oklahoma Homecoming 90 celebration and funded through private donations. T & J Dirt Company donated the tree. The artist worked from photographs of Chief Sapulpa (1824-1887), an early settler in the area. His assistant, Lynn Burgess, posed for the body. The "A" on the front of the base is the brand of the McComb family, descendants of Chief Sapulpa. IAS files include related articles from the Sapulpa Daily Herald, March 6, 1990, March 8, 1990 and March 18, 1990.
