    Description: 
    An archway made of fieldstones and mortar shelters the original town pump and a stone horse trough. The sides of the archway feature two metal horse hitches.

    Remarks: 
    The archway is located at the edge of a grassy oval area known as "The Egg." The fieldstone arch was designed by Amy Howe and built by Burt Burgess. The water pump is a Buckeye Lift Pump made in Springfield, Ohio. IAS files contain a copy of the Massachusetts Historical Commission Form C - Monuments questionnaire dated Nov. 1986.
