(On plaques, south side:) ERECTED/A.D./1883 (On plaques, west and east sides: list of names) (On small oval plaque:) 1861 Founder's mark appears.
Description:
A granite obelisk adorned with bronze inscription plaques and bronze reliefs depicting military motifs. One bronze relief depicts a cannon, a ship's wheel, and crossed cannon tampers. Another bronze relief depicts two tiny sailors standing on a large anchor.
