Description:
Fraktur bookplate in an singing school booklet that has a decorated cardboard cover, and a number of pages filled with handwritten musical notation and hymn titles. The bookplate reads: "Diese Harmonische Melodeyen buchlein gehoret Sarah Oberholtzerin, Sing Schuller in der Tieffroner Schule, Geschrieben den 5 ten Fabruarius in Jahr Anno 1815." The translation reads: This harmonic melodies booklet belongs to Sarah Oberholtzer, singing scholar in the Deep Run School, written the 5th of February in the year 1815. Colors are red, black, brown, yellow. The text is surrounded by a circle with tulips and plants with brown leaves.

Remarks:
The piece was created at the Deep Run Mennonite School, Bedminister Township, Bucks County, by the "Brown Leaf Artist" in 1815. Sarah Oberholtzer (1799-1855) was the daughter of Jacob Oberholtzer.
