Alice Abel, a member of the Wesleyan Arts Council, contributed a major part of the financing. The approved design was mistakenly reversed in the completed sculpture. Sections were cut according to a plywood pattern at Rivers Metal Products in Lincoln, Nebraska and the under structure was designed by Michael Bott.
