Remarks:
Construction costs for the Tower area were $14,000 -- made possible through gifts, memorials, and individual project pledges. The bell was cast in 1910 by Hy Studkstede Foundry for the Lincoln Lutheran Church near Royal, Iowa. The bell was originally a gift to the church by the grandparents of Don Olin, members of that church. The bell was brought to the merged congregations of Bethesda and Royal churches in 1950. Harlan Bohnsack of Architects Collaborative served as architect for the tower; Spencer Construction Co., served as contractor. IAS files contain a copy of the dedication ceremony, which includes list of donors and photocopied image of the tower in Nov. 1977.
