Description:  Full-length portrait of Captain don Gaspar de Portola. He wears eighteenth century Spanish military attire including tricorner hat. His proper left hand holds the handle of a sword which hangs from his proper left hip. He holds a rolled document in his proper right hand. The bronze sculpture stands on a concrete pedestal base.
