Founders (On plaque on base:) Dedicated July 4, 1919/In grateful remembrance of the young/men of this town who enterd the military/and naval service of the United States of/America in the World War and offered their/lives to defend the sacred institutions of/their country abolish the rule of tyrants/and secure to all peoples the blessings/of liberty. This statue of Enduring bronze/was erected by the town of Warwick.../Committee of statue/General Charles A. Wilson William E. Sykes James Warren Lander/Sculptor John G. Hardy. (An honor roll appears on plaques on the left, right and rear of base.) signed Founder's mark appears.
Description:
Full-length figure of a National Guard soldier running from a trench, with rifle poised in a shooting position. The sculpture stands atop a natural boulder with four plaques attached. Three of the plaques list the honor roll of citizens of the town of Warwick who died in the First World War.

Remarks:
Erected by the Town of Warwick in memory of its citizens who served in World War I. The monument honors those in all branches of the service. The boulder was provided by the Blackstone Manufacturing Company of Blackstone, MA.
