Description:
A double Gothic arch made of wrought iron, with rectangular areas between the two arches in which hunting scenes are portrayed. The scenes include ducks, a hunting dog pointing, and the figure of a hunter, all in silhouette. The arch is painted black enamel. Centered under the arch is a hand-pump from which water would flow into a granite trough positioned in front of the arch.

Remarks:
The pump and water trough were installed in 1885 and were previously located in front of the fire station until 1928 when they were moved to the current location. Pump is no longer functional. The pump and trough are registered with the National Register of Historic Places. IAS files contain related article from Cape Cod Times (Hyannis, MA) Dec. 6, 1991. For additional material see "Old Homes and Gathering Places," Yarmouth Historical Society, 1989, pg. 20-21. According to the Yarmouth Historical Commission, the arch was designed by Frank Weston Benson and Percival P. Forgue created the arch based on Benson's design. IAS files contain illustrations of the artist's etchings.
