This fountain was planned for intersections, first at Broadway, 24th and Lawrence Streets, and then at East 1st Avenue and South Steele Street, before its present site was chosen. the contract agreement was signed with Dwyer on August 9, 1974. Fountain cost $15,000. Partial funding was received from the National Endowment for the Arts. Robert Behrens collaborated on the piece.
