    Remarks:
The statue is after a miniature by the sitter's daughter, Juanita Miller. Restoration work was performed in 1968, including coating the statue with pigment and iron filings to produce a patina on its surface. In Merville A. Reed's Book titled "Historical Statues and Monuments in California", Miller wears a hat which is now missing. IAS files contain a related article from the Oakland Tribune, June 27, 1968, pg. 18-F which gives execution date as 1934.
