    Standing figure of a soldier holding a flag, set on a tall granite shaft. There are four relief panels around the base depicting different scenes of military service.

    Although it remained on the same plot of land, this sculpture was moved in 1969 when the Lake County Building was erected. Edith Freeman made the statue and panels; F. Bairstow of Waukegan erected the monument.
