    Description: 
    Two gateway structures are comprised of towers on each side of the street joined by a steel truss. The towers consist of six vertical forms in three heights, arranged with tallest in the center flanked by the two sets of shorter pieces. There are tile murals on the lower sides of the towers and neon lights on the upper sides. The murals are in the Art Deco style.

    Remarks: 
    Commissioned between 1988 and 1991 for the Percent for Art Program at a cost of $265,000. Unforeseen engineering and construction problems delayed the project's completion until 1994. IAS files include a related article from the Albuquerque Journal, April 25, 1994, a portion of the artist's proposal and sketches, Percent for Art forms from the City and a topographical survey of the site.
