Sculpture is "interactive art," meant to be played on by children. The Playground League for All Youth served as the sponsor for the grant to fund it, with funding through the Decentralized Arts Funding Program (which allows $1.00 for each state resident to be spent on art). IAS files contain two articles from The News-Star (Monroe, LA): Sept. 30, 1995, pg. 1, pg. 16A; and Dec. 7, 1995. The latter article includes discussion of the dedication.
