Description:
Figure of a nude child reclining on his or her proper left side. The proper left arm is under the child's head and the proper right arm and hand rest on the pillow on which the child's head rests. The proper left leg is drawn up under the child's body and the proper right leg is bent at the knee and lays over the proper left leg. The child's eyes are closed, and hair is drawn back and curled at the ends.

Remarks:
The City of Kansas City owns this figure, but the J. C. Nichols Company maintains it. Nearby plaque reads: SLEEPING CHILD/An original figure by Andreini of/Florence, Italy. A child completely/relaxed in the sleep of the innocent and/the just, while her lovely head rests lightly on her arm/Acquired by Miller Nichols and/dedicated to the Plaza in/1963.
In 2004, Kansas City Adopt A Monument reported that all sculptures owned by the J. C. Nichols company should be changed to Highwoods Property.
