Description:  "Rough, triangular, wedge-shaped marble chunk has a rectangular bas-relief panel carved on front surface. The panel depicts quarrying and carving activities." The Bicentennial Memorial sculpture was the result of a collaboration between the Carving Studio and the Town of West Rutland. Don Ramey, who works at the Carving Studios created drawings and a clay model. Dino and Derno Ambrosini executed the carving of the sculpture. The Memorial stands as a tribute to the history of the international group of workers who journeyed here to quarry and carve the native marbles of West Rutland.
